So.....

|
So I have been a bit busy this week.  Some of it with reading and learning lots more but unfortunately most of it was taken up with work.  My 8 hours of work was quickly made up by my exceptionally long days on Wednesday and Thursday.

Last Monday while the little one took her off for a nap (yes a nap!  I was shocked!) I tried to do some product photography.  Ok it isn't as good as the ones my dear friend over at Lauren Hillhouse Photography normally does for me but I thought it was an ok beginning.  What do you think?

One thing I know I need to change is the location of where I take the photographs.  I will definitely need to move to the other side of the lounge where the big window is.

Editing is another hard one.  I have no idea what I am doing!  I would prefer not to edit at all just to crop but hey that is probably still a while off.  Fingers crossed it does get better with the next batch.

Available at Calladoodles

|
I recently joined the wonderful Calladoodles in Carlshalton High Street.  I have been eyeing that shop for some time.  The beautifully hand crafted items they have in there is just amazing.  The designers are so talented therefore when I met Claire, the owner back in May to show her my products I was exstatic to hear that she would be happy to have me.

So for now if you wish to go and view my products instead of via photos please do pop in.  They currently have a selection of my baby booties but I am hoping to deliver some hats before the month is out.  In addition some of the items you find in the shop will not be available online

P.s They will be selling online soon too! Just in case you are not near by :)

My first baby prop photo shoot!

So much have happened since my last blog and I will fill you in on it shortly (it includes having to knit 40 baby booties!)

A friend of mine, Angel, borrowed some of my items for an upcoming photo shoot of a very adorable baby girl.

Are they not amazing?  You can find more of Angel's work at www.angelseye.co.uk

Meet Bunny 21

|
I decided towards the end of last year that I want my little shop to have a conscious.  I also became the Charity Champion at work which I did not realise was going to be another job in itself!  But I am happy to do it and if I can make a difference then why not.

So I was thinking of a charity to I would like to donate to.  I have always wanted to find away to support the A21 campaign, get the word out on the street of what they do and what a difference they make so with my skill of knitting I decided to make this beautiful bunny, fill it with lots of softness and love.  I will be donating 25% of the sale of each Bunny to the A21 campaign.  Isn't it nice to know when you buy something you are also giving?  I love it!

We had the photo shoot for Bunny on Saturday.  Lauren (Lauren Fisher Photography) came over and we had so much fun taking the pictures, although my daughter kept trying to steel it when we weren't looking!

I hope you love this Bunny as I love making it.  Please pop over to Etsy and Folksy to purchase this for a upcoming baby shower or why not for yourself if you love Bunnies!

Photo shoot

|

Last week I had a photo shoot for some updated Knitaboo products.  My lovely photographer, Lauren, did an impromptu photo shoot of Lucie-Jo.  The photographs came out fantastic, even with a mouth covered in cookie crumbs!  I can't wait to see the result from the new products I made.  Below are the results...

Things British

|

I recently found out about Things British through the wonderful team of Britsh Sellers on Etsy.  The process was easy and the people that own the store was very helpful.  Darrell and his team where patient with all my questions and I know my products are in good hands.

Labels were designed by The Design Boat which has added a new diminution to Knitaboo and how I present my product.  The Avatar that was designed is great and I am hoping to get it printed on material so that I can stitch that on.

Things British is a great concept and I know that it is a company that will go from strength to strength.  I think in the current climate that people with realise that supporting that which is at our door step is the way forward.  Mass produced items do make things cheaper but we need to reduce our consumption of natural resources and reduce our waste.  I know sometimes I am guilty of that too but I as my daughter is growing up there are things that I need for her to learn and understand.
