Toy Box Tales

Today at work I had a few minutes spare and decided to keep one of my promises to myself for 2016.I wanted to network more via Etsy and Facebook and I know that a treasury is a good way to start.  It's been a while since I had done one and I kept thinking about the little rabbit I made my little girl (not so little anymore!) So I thought of all the amazing handmade toys you can find on Etsy.  Here they are!

Progress on my blanket

I don't know if you remember that last year I started a blanket for myself.  There was about 3 months that I haven't touched it and have now started again.  I still have a very very long way to go.  The blogs that I sometimes stop by always have these photos of amazing blankets that they have made and in one way I feel inspired to pick it all up again and power on but then I start my project and I think where do the find the time and patience?

I found this saying on Melody's Making Facebook page and reading this definitely took me on a trip down memory lane.

I have fond memories of sitting next to my mother (or sometimes on top of her just like my daughter does!) when she was doing her knitting and crocheting.  When it was time to sew I hid underneath the sewing table or would find a corner in the sewing room with a book or toys.  I used to make dolls clothes out of the odd bits of fabric that was left.

What fond memories do you have when reading this sign?  Does it remind you of where you came from and why you are doing what your doing?  It really does for me!

Star Buttons

Just had a delivery through the door of star buttons.  They are a bit smaller than the previous ones but I think they are perfect - it has just taken me about a year to find this style.

Holidays! The first few days...

So after 3 weeks of working 60 hours a week it was time for a family break and we kicked it off by staying at the hotel I work at in London.  We went to parks and to the Natural History Museum.  The weather has been a blessing so far...
