Cosy Toes!

|
It is definitely getting colder out there!  And keeping my toes warm in lovely wooly socks is a must.  What do you think of these from my Etsy shop?  It looks like a bootie with some socks (just attached!)

It's Pumpkin Time!

|
Every shop you go into at the moment there seems to be pumpkins everywhere.  I love pumpkins (hubby not so much I think).  I need to dig out an old recipe of pumpkin cakes (not cake like in chocolate but not sure what the translation will be!).It's probably the only time of the year I like orange!

Autumn Apples

|
I love apples.  What a yummy autumn fruit.  If you love apples too check out this little apple hat in my Etsy Shop.

A "BIG" project

|
As I travel via the blogasphere and see other people making themselves those wonderful cosy blankets as well as making one for my daughter I thought I would be adventurous and start one for me. It will probably be finished in time for next winter but it makes me feel excited that I am going to have this wonderful cosy blanket just for me!!  What do you think of the colour combination?  I am in love with pastel colours at the moment.  Soft pinks, blues, violet, light grey and mint!

A little treat for me...

|
I have to admit - I am not a big DIY person and sometimes I do like just buying my stuff ready made.  So after seeing the lovely things my friend makes with stuff she finds I thought, ok why not?  I can start small….baby steps.

So the other day I was in town on a Saturday like we normally do once in a while at Marks and Spencers for tea, coffee and cake.  After we finished we went for a wander and ended up in the home section.  What do I find?  These lovely knobs!  They look so vintage and I had to just get it.  I wasn't sure what I was going to use them for but after a couple of weeks now I have decided we will use it on the Ikea drawers that is in my daughter's room which we were planning to bring to ours.  Now with these lovelies I can add something special to it.  What do you think??

One busy summer

|
Well it has been a very busy and crazy summer in this house hold with me working some ridicolous hours at work and balancing time with family and household.

The little one graduated nursery back in July and now we are working on getting ready for school.  Can't believe it has reached that time already!  Where did time go.

One of our favourite things to do is going to Crystal Palace Park.  I loved how they themed it with Dinosaurs.  It has a great little working farm too and if the weather holds tomorrow then we might just go for a wander again.

It has this amazing little coffee shop inside the station called Brown and Green.  Our first experience there was amazing and we have been back a couple of times.  It was recommended to us by my dear friend Lauren.  It's child friendly and full of yummy tasty home made food (great for little ones!)

Me and my husband both agree if we lived any closer we might just never have any money as we will be spending too much time there.

LJ also had the pleasure of spending two weeks of her summer holiday with her grand parents.  It was a nice break for us as well I have to say and really good for spending quality time with the hubby.

Crazy Week

|
Well it has been a crazy week and one I thought would never end.  I had a tooth ache over the weekend and on Monday it turned into a full abscess which included a stomach bug that went round and now I am getting a cold.  I think this is the price I am paying for the long hours at work

So today I thought I would finish off some items I have been working on and do some more practice on my product photography.  It's still not as great as the photographer that I use but it is getting better.  What do you think?  Still need to work on my lighting...

Coasters or bunting?

|
I made these a while ago and I am not sure if I should keep this as coasters for my cups of coffee or if I should make some more into bunting for the little ones room.  What do you think?

Still one of my favourites

|
These booties are still one of my favourites and I have brought it back for this summer so go check out my Etsy Shop

What do you think?  Also sign up to my newsletter and enjoy 10% off any purchases over £10 in my shop from now till the end of May.

So.....

|
So I have been a bit busy this week.  Some of it with reading and learning lots more but unfortunately most of it was taken up with work.  My 8 hours of work was quickly made up by my exceptionally long days on Wednesday and Thursday.

Last Monday while the little one took her off for a nap (yes a nap!  I was shocked!) I tried to do some product photography.  Ok it isn't as good as the ones my dear friend over at Lauren Hillhouse Photography normally does for me but I thought it was an ok beginning.  What do you think?

One thing I know I need to change is the location of where I take the photographs.  I will definitely need to move to the other side of the lounge where the big window is.

Editing is another hard one.  I have no idea what I am doing!  I would prefer not to edit at all just to crop but hey that is probably still a while off.  Fingers crossed it does get better with the next batch.

Found this...

|
I found this saying on Melody's Making Facebook page and reading this definitely took me on a trip down memory lane.

I have fond memories of sitting next to my mother (or sometimes on top of her just like my daughter does!) when she was doing her knitting and crocheting.  When it was time to sew I hid underneath the sewing table or would find a corner in the sewing room with a book or toys.  I used to make dolls clothes out of the odd bits of fabric that was left.

What fond memories do you have when reading this sign?  Does it remind you of where you came from and why you are doing what your doing?  It really does for me!

Mother's Day 2014

|
It has been way to long since I have had time to do a blog post and finally today I have some time!  I don't know where the time has gone and cannot believe it is already April.

Mother's Day was a quiet one in our house.  I didn't get a chance to be lazy in bed instead I had to come down for play time while Daddy was told he can sleep (child logic)

It was a good day though.  We played lots, did our nails and then had the in-laws over for lunch.

One of my daughter's favourite toys are her Busy Books.  She has about 5 of them but they are so great for the imagination and keeps her busy for quite a nice amount of time.  I love hearing the stories she comes out with!

Then it was some mommy time and we got to do her nails.  I love Essie nail colour and have a nice little selection.  We picked these colours though.  I went for the grey and she went for the deep red. It was so nice to have this little girlie moment...

Blankets

|
So the blanket bug has gotten hold of me.  It's a time consuming project and I can now understand why special handmade blankets are very expensive.  I have decided to now work on adding some to my Shop.

Here is one I am currently working on.  What do you think?  Do you like the colour combo?

How time flies

|
Yesterday we had a tea and cake gathering for our little princess.  She is turning 4 on Wednesday.  How time flies!  I can't believe that on Monday we find out what school she is going to.  Today it also hit me that there will have to be some new time juggling that needs to happen.  What do working mums do if school finishes at 3?  Any ideas??

But apart from that bit of worry (ok I shall follow my new rule of not worrying at all)  We had so much fun!  She really loves her presents (can't currently get her out of her Frozen dress.  The Anna one - Elsa we couldn't find anywhere!)
